About Us

  • There are more than 5500 retired and serving officers of the Defence Services living within the Tri-city and its vicinity. A need to create a DSOI in Panchkula was felt as the existing two services institutes ie DSOI Chandigarh and KOI Chandimandir were not able to meet the aspiration of the veteran community, being oversubscribed.

  • In Jan 2014 the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana was approached for providing an institutional site at concessional rate for establishing a DSOI at Panchkula. The efforts fructified after long parleys during various meets at the highest level and the Haryana Govt allotted 8100 sqm of land at sector 26 Panckkula to HQ Western Command vide chief administrator HUDA office memo date 11 Sep 2014. The purchase was made from Command Welfare Fund. Thus a new institute was conceived which would acclaim its rightful place on the map of Tri - city. The construction work started in July 2019 and ran into delays due to lockdowns imposed by COVID pandemic.

  • The institute took final shape due to concerted efforts of the entire Project Team. All veteran members of KOM&I were transferred to DSOI, Panchkula.
